JANUARY
Jan 18 - 27 Manatee County Fair
The Manatee County Fair offers traditional sights and sounds of the Midway, including a variety of rides, games and attractions. Agriculture and home economics play a significant role in the fair. FEBRUARY
Feb 1 - 28 Singing River Rendezvous
Boy Scout Camp Flying Eagle: Visitors will travel back in time to the days of the Mountain men and Fur Traders. Merchants dealing in pre-1840 style goods will have their wares on display and for sale or trade. As during a fur-trade rendezvous of days of old, competitions in black powder shooting, knife and hawk throwing and games of skill are scheduled. Feb 3 Florida Fishing College

Feb 3 - 4 Bradenton Beach Festival

Feb 4 Southeast Nostalgia Nationals-2001 Season Opener
Fifty classes of flag-start nostalgia drag racing brings dragsters, gassers, and altereds etc. out to do what they did in the heyday of drag racing in the 1960's. Feb 17 - 17 Cortez Fishing Festival
The Cortez Fishing Festival is an annual celebration that takes place in the picturesque fishing village of Cortez. The festival features fresh seafood environmental exhibits, entertainment, arts & crafts with a nautical theme, net mending demonstrations and boat tours and rides. Feb 25 Rubonia Mardi Gras

MARCH
March 1 - 4 Medieval Fair
Ringling Museum of Art Watch in awe as the streets of the 12th century village come to life with hundreds of unique characters. Enjoy a variety of shows on eight stages, providing more than 100 performances daily. Watch a brave knights battle for glory and see the swiftness of their sword. March 1 - 31 Manatee Arts Fest
Fine arts and fine crafts (original, handmade by artists). March 1 - 31 Palmetto Heritage Day
Festival originally created to raise funds to save the Historic Green Bridge along the Manatee River. Today the festival now celebrates the bridge and features live entertainment, ethnic foods, arts & crafts. March 1 - 31 Hunsader Farms Spring Festival

March 1 - 31 Manatee Heritage Month
Manatee Heritage Month is an annual month-long celebration of Manatee County's rich history. Tours are sponsored by area historical groups to sites such as the Gamble Mansion, the Cortez Fishing Village and the Manatee Village Historical Park. March 4 Gamble Plantation's Annual Open House

April 7 - 8 Florida Heritage Festival - Seafood Fest

April 13 Florida Heritage Festival-Childrens Parade
Time: 10:00am/The children's parade is one of the most adorable events you'll ever see. Floats designed and built by children parade along the historic avenues of Palmetto from the Manatee County Fairgrounds south on 10th Avenue W. April 21 Florida Heritage Festival-Plastic Bottle Boat Regatta
Experience the extremely popular Plastic Bottle Boat Regatta. Various teams build boats that float on plastic bottles and have only paddles for propulsion. April 28 Florida Heritage Festival-Stadium Show/Grand Parade
The Florida Heritage Festival Grand Finale is the exciting Stadium Show and Grand Parade. June 22 to the Dogs: Elliott Erwitt
In time for the "dog days of summer," this lighthearted exhibition of 108 black-and-white photographs on the theme of dogs initiates the Sarasota summer season at the Ringling Museum of Art. Dogs have been a conscious theme in Erwitt's work since the 1950s as he realized that, along with continuous amusement, dogs also provided him with a mirror of our human condition. As these pictures will testify, Erwitt seems to not accept humans as the highest "product" of evolution. Phone: (941) 359-5700

July 3 Bradenton Beach Fireworks Celebration

3rd Annual tournament starting with a Captains' Meeting at the Twin Dolphin Marina Grill followed by two days of fishing.
