The causes of pain in the back, neck, joints, or head

"I start each week energetic, focused and relaxed thanks to Ernesto's unique blend of therapies. I highly recommend him to friends and colleagues!"

-- Martin Parker M.S.W.

There are six factors which can lead to pain in these areas:

Iscemia - the lack of blood and oxygen caused by muscular spasm.

Trigger Points - areas of increased metabolic waste deposits which excite segments of the spinal cord, causing referred pain to other parts of the body.

Nerve entrapment/compression - pressure on nerves by soft tissue (muscle, tendon, ligament, fascia or skin) or by hard tissue (bone or disk).

Postural Distortion - tight, shortened muscles caused by the body's misalignment from anatomical incorrect posture.

Nutrition and Stress - can also cause a powerful impact on pain.

How deep tissue massage therapy helps

"I am recovering from a double spinal fusion. Ernesto's deep tissue massage provides me with releif from severe pain for the first time in two years. I have tried everything in the book and nothing worked. He is a true healer. "

-- Barbara Bose, Publisher.

Simple manipulative soft tissue
treatment techniques are applied to
appropriate and precise places on muscles, tendons and ligaments. During and following treatment, these tight tissues begin to relax, soften and lengthen. The relaxing tissue allows an increased amount of blood which carries oxygen and nutrients into the area, flushing out trapped metabolic waste products. This lessens the physical pressure on the muscle, reducing the muscular contraction, and reducing pain.

Cranio Sacral Therapy

"Ernesto Ortiz, licensed massage therapist, is a blessing to those of us in need of soft tissue repair and healing. His depth of knowledge and experience untangles and relieves even the worst of muscular dysfunctions. The myofacial release and cranio sacral techniques he utilizes have given me significant relief from painful neck and back pathology."

-- Trish Stemrich-Harris, Physical Therapist.

This type of therapy is used to locate problems by encouraging your own natural mechanisms to improve the functioning of your brain and spinal cord, dissipating the negative effects of stress and enhancing your resistance to disease.

Using this gentle, noninvasive manipulative technique, the therapist seldom applies more than 5 grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel), after a movement test is is performed. The parts of the Cranio Sacral system easily palpated are the skull, sacrum and coccyx because they attach to the membranes which enclose the cerebrospinal fluid.
