Hello: This site is awesome, I would like to know if there is any place around Tampa, clearwater or in the general area that offers an establishment that you can swim with dolphins. I have heard that they are available, but as I am travelling to Florida in the end of February I would like to know! Thanking You Trevor Jackson Dear Trevor, Thanks for the nice compliment - glad you enjoyed the dolphin story. As far as I know, there are 2 locations in Fla where you can swim with dolphins - one is in Key largo (kind of far from Tampa): its called the Dolphin Research Center: 305/289-1121, and the other is in Panama City (also kind of far): call the visitor bureau for a list of dolphin places (800)PC-BEACH . There is a group in Nassau called Island Epeditions: 809/325-2573 - they knows where the wild freckled dolphins are. I called the Tampa Convention & Visitor Bureau, and they have nothing like this in the area. Have fun, and thanks for using Absolutely Florida! I need some information about your restaurants? Can you send me a brochure or just give info on your menu, prices, number of places available (Capacity) ? We will have a large event in Miami in the beginning of 97 and we need a place to take the attendees for a special dinner !!! Thanks in advance for your attention! PATRICIA Dear Patricia, Thank you for your inquiry. I have forwarded your request to a few select restaurants that can handle a larger capacity for dining, and will offer you very special service. You will be hearing from the Doral Hilton, The Hyatt Regency Coral Gables and also the downtown Miami Hyatt. Please don't hesitate to request more information if these don't suit your needs. Most Sincerely, Barbara Bose Absolutely Florida Websource We will try to divide the group in small ones so each account can take their customers to a restaurant, which I think it's nicer and people enjoy better ! So what I need is some nice, fancy different restaurants and the can be Mexican , American, French .... each group will get a different kind. Can you give me some ideas ? We have a sub in FortLauderdale but we are trying to arrange this on our own. Thanks a lot for your care and attention! Hoping to hear from you soon !!! Patricia Dear Patricia, OK, here are some ideas. The best restaurants are on Miami Beach and in Coral Gables. I'm not sure if getting around is a problem, but here are my favorites: Click: http://funandsun.com/1tocf/dinef/1/midn.html#m_b for the complete list of Miami Beach restaurants. The map will help you see where you are. MIAMI BEACH: Pacific Time - elegant place, I recommend the grouper. California-style cuisine. YUCA - stands for Young Urban American Cuban. Award-winning, very interesting and beautiful nouvelle Cuban food. Blue Door at The Delano - Outstanding suroundings, designed by Philippe Starke. Superb surroundings and a must-see for people interested in artful surroundings. The food is OK, but the place is spectacular. Continental cuisine. Oggi - wonderfullly delicious Italian. Not an extra fancy place, but the food is great. Sort of out of the way, though. See: http://funandsun.com/1tocf/dinef/1/midn.html#n_b_v Tita's - very delicious Mexican - actually Southwestern, which is more gourmet, not too fancy but with VERY nice service and the best chicken (Pollo Dulce) I've ever had in Miami Beach. There's also a coupon you can print out and present for a half-price meal. Joe's Stone Crab - famous landmark in Miami Beach for Stone Crabs - (lucky, they're in season). CORAL GABLES http://funandsun.com/1tocf/dinef/1/midn.html#c_g Two Sisters Restaurant in the Hyatt Regency. Excellence service and a very pretty place. Spanish food. Norman's - very hot chef Norman Van Aiken's signature restaurant. Restaurant St. Michelle - Good French food in a charming old hotel. Caffe Abbracci - lovely little Italian restaurant. http://funandsun.com/1tocf/dinef/1/midn.html#n_m NORTH MIAMI Mark's Place - famous chef, a little out of the way - but very good. Make sure you have reservations. OK, I hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else! Barbara Bose |
FYI, I am using ISDN. Your pages are way too slow and the use of refresh screen with advertisement to get to maps is not cute. I am looking for sites to link to my web site for info on Florida. Your site is too heavy on the graphics and frustrating to view. Jackie Jackie,, If it's any help, we've completed our type-only index of Absolutely Florida, so you can access pages wihtout going through graphic-intensive pages. Visit http://funandsun.com/1tocf/cont.html if you are interested. We have quite a bit of material in the Websource, which may be of use to you. There's also a new front page with a small logo and no other artwork to slow you down. The spot-feature ad remains, however, because it is very attractive to advertisers, which is, after all, how we make our money. Barbara Bose Publisher Absolutely Florida Websource Hi; Dear Abfla: I loved your inter-zine, the parts of it that I could access. The colors were terrific, and the few stories I could download were well done. I'm looking forward to hearing more from Vanessa Slade. What, exactly, do I have to do to A. Get RealAudio? B. Upgrade my browser? (I have Netscape) Thanks for the classy production. I'm looking forward to an enhanced version, once I figure out how. Sincerely, Linda Barnes, computer neophyte Dear Linda, You might be experiencing a bit of a Catch-22. You can't find the help page because you have an ancient browser. But you can't miss the RealAudio page, it's one of the first hyperlinks off the cover. Just follow the instructions on the page. Here's a hyperlink to make it easy: RealAudio instructions. As for the upgraded browser, go here: Help & Information. You can select either a new version of Netcsape Navigator (the demo version is free), or the Microsoft Explore, also free. Remember to throw away your old version of Netscape first. Kinda scarey, I know, but having two of the same program could cause a problem. The older versions of some browsers cause the links to act wrong, background colors can't be seen. The worst are the AOL browsers, which can't handle "tables", a technique that makes things line up well on web pages.
