GENERAL JAMES A. VAN FLEET
STATE TRAIL
The Van Fleet Trail is a safe and pleasant place for bicyclists, hikers, joggers, and horseback riders to enjoy. The 29 mile trail through the Green Swamp was once a railroad track that has been converted for recreational use. The trail extends from Polk City through Bay Lake to Mabel.
Parking is provided at the Mabel, Bay Lake, Green Pond and Polk City Trail Heads. The trail is open from sunrise to sunset daily.
The General James A. Van Fleet State Trail is located off I-4 on S. R. 33 and C. R. 655 in Polk City on the south end and off S.R. 50, 5 miles west of Mascot in Mabel on the north end.
